Trick or Treat Smell Our Feet

Sharing is caring!

For a handful of years now we have had a tradition. I like tradition-  it makes me happy.

My kids and my friend Kim’s kids trick or treat together. Kim and I have known each other since I was in high school. When my nephew Troy was little, my brother James and his wife Lynn started joining us.

We have fun.

Everyone comes to our neck of the woods and we knock on doors and eat the kids’ candy.

Then we go to dinner.

1. Anthony, you guys know Anthony. Blake, the goblin of sorts, is Kim’s middle child. Troy, the  Transformer, is my brother’s oldest son.

2. Gracie, my brother’s daughter. Troy’s sister and a middle child. She was a fairy princess.

3. Nicky as a Storm Trooper and sweet Hayley. Hayley’s mom and Kim were friends first. Kim and I met through Hayley’s mom. I remember the day Hayley was born. She is a sophomore in high school now. I feel old.

4. Matthew. Um, why does he look so big? That is Luke’s costume from last year that he is wearing, per his request. Well, he really does not talk much, but he has taken the costume over and wears it all the time.

5. My friend Kim and her baby Skylar. This was Skylar’s first year to dress up in a non-kiddy costume. Skylar did not get the memo that she is not allowed to grow up. Ever.

6. Wyatt dressed as Buzz. Wyatt is my brother’s youngest child. Wyatt and Matthew are just a week and a half apart in age. Wyatt is a fast trick or treater. Matthew, not so much.

7. Nick and his huge helmet that did not come with his costume, but fit perfectly. He wanted to paint it to match. We finally convinced him it was perfect just the way it is.

8. Luke. Oh, sweet Luke. He fell asleep at dinner. When we got home he cried for macaroni and cheese.

Garrett trick or treated with his Dad and Sean (Kim’s oldest son) was dressed way cool for Halloween, as any 14 year old boy would be, but he was just too awesome to be photographed. Actually I snapped two shots of him, but they turned out blurry. 🙁
