This is one of the best tricks ever. I’m left handed and many cake servers are made for right handed people. Dental floss (don’t use mint or waxed LOL) however is made for both right and left handed people 🙂
Audrey- thanks so much for taking the time to leave your input. I never thought about cake servers being made for right handed people. I bet this is a life saver!
Love this! We are hosting our first Kitchen Fun and Crafty link party this Friday (the 10th) and would love for you to share this! Feel free to stop by and grab a party button! http://kitchenfunwithmy3sons.blogspot.com/

I was so going to say that, make sure to tell people not to use the flavored kind, because you so know I would do that;p
Very true, Sue. Unless you want a minty flavored cake, just use plain old floss.

Great idea! Now I just have to make a cake. Does it work for frosted cakes as well?
This is such a fabulous tip. I do this with my cinnamon roll dough…why not with cake, too? Would be delighted for you to link this up to Mop It Up Mondays at: http://www.ishouldbemoppingthefloor.com/2012/02/mop-it-up-mondays-party-2.html

Great idea!
This is such a good idea! I hate cutting a cake! Its the worst part of baking but this could be the answer!
I’ve seen floss used to cut cinnamon roll logs into rolls too. Works great!
Love how simply and to the point this is! 🙂 Thanks for sharing on Fancy This Fridays Crystal!!
This is a very good idea. However, I dont believe it will work on my mother in law’s cakes. Too dry. LOl
