Using #Rebate Sites to Save #Money

Saving money on your wedding is just like saving money on your day to day expenses! Learning about the many ways to save money on weddings will help you save money on other things, from Christmas gifts to groceries! One of the great ways to save money is by utilizing tools that are already available to you online.

Rebate sites are a great way to make a required purchase a cheap purchase. Rebate sites are safe to use. When you purchase through a rebate site you are using an affiliate link. The rebate site gets affiliate income from your purchase and sends part of that income to you. Your purchase information stays on the site you make the purchase from (such as your credit card info and exactly what you buy). Then, the site you make a purchase from tells the rebate site how much you spent and will send affiliate income based on that.

EXAMPLE:

• You spend $100 at Macy’s, which gives their affiliates 10% of the purchase their referrals make. A rebate site is offering a 5% rebate on your purchase so you use their link before you make your purchase. Macy’s sends them $10 and they give you $5.

When making required purchases, especially high cost wedding items, you can save a lot of money by using refund sites. Another bonus to refund sites is that they will show you the coupons available and those coupons can be combined with the rebate.  As I explain in my how to coupon page, this is called a double dip!

There are many different rebate sites and that can sometimes complicate things. They work similarly, and my two favorite are saving money with Ebates and saving money with Mr. Rebates. (Evrewards.com) will let you know which site gives the best rebate.
