Weekly Meal Plan #4

Sharing is caring!

Went to the store today.

Wait…

Went to Target today. (let’s be real)

Spent right at $100.00 for a week worth of breakfast, sack lunches, toddler-at-home lunches, dinner and crazy stuff like diapers for almost 4 year olds. (Yes MOTHER, they are still NOT totally potty trained.)

Really, I could have spent $150 easily, but the Mister has me on a budget. He says a good budget minded woman can easily feed 14,000 children for a week on $100…

I would tell you what this ‘good woman’ said back to him, but we want to keep this at least rated PG 13, right?

I kind of understand I suppose.

This is how he works his magic with money.

I’ve always said he can turn pennies into dollars, but me…. I spend ’em!

Fast!

Cause you can’t take this stuff to heaven!

Imagine what Target is like in heaven.

Aisle of golden cookies and every pair of jeans you try on fit just right.

No tool aisles tough, so the men will be bored.

We will tell them a ‘good minded man does not need tools as he can build an arc with his bare hands’.

Yes, I am feel ornery.

Remember, the comedy here is free.

Back on track now. This is where my money went…

Breakfast for the week:

Cereal for the twins- they are on a Honey Nut Cheerios kick… but I buy the Target brand of course.

Anthony likes hard boiled eggs. The child really is an old soul.I am sure soon he will ask for a cup of coffee to go with it.

Garrett eats a bagel with cream cheese just about very morning. He is all about routine.

I also have stuff to make biscuits and gravy… yum. Or pancakes even Malt-o Meal.

Lunches:

The twins love hot dogs or macaroni and cheese. We also have corn dogs in the freezer somewhere.

Garrett and Anthony are in bologna-sandwich-land these days with BBQ chips. They love it.

Dinners:

These are the dinners I will be making. Not sure in what order yet. This week that is just not important to me at this moment. As I make the dinners, if there are any delicious revelations I will post about them.

This menu is just for Monday-Friday as Sunday night we ate out…. the kids wanted to go to Incredible Pizza so Daddy and Grandpa took that chore on and Matthew and I did the grocery shopping in peace and quiet.

1) Fried Pork Chops (unhealthy I know, but delicious for sure)
Homemade Mac and Cheese
Roasted Garlicy Red Potatoes

2) Pinto Beans with Sausage and Mexican Cornbread
(I’m adding Eckrich sausage to my pot of beans as inspired by my friend Kim!)

3) Crockpot Asian Chicken Fried Rice

4) Homemade Pizza

5) Leftovers? Here’s hopin’!

This week I also plan to make Tres Leches Cake. Found a seemingly simple recipe from a great new website/blog I am following…. The Pioneer Woman. Her site is beautiful and makes me want to move to the middle of no where and raise my children on a farm with horse poop and chickens.

Oh, and quick swine flu update. Last week Luke came down with it as well. He did not catch it from Garrett… it was a full week later.

His symptoms were the same as Garrett’s. Tamiflu was prescribed and he recovered quickly and beautifully!

14000 children can easily be fed on $100 a week! Provided, of course, that 13,998 watch and drool while the other two eat;). Thanks for posting to Crock Pot Wednesday!

Love your humor! I also love The Pioneer Woman. My kids are sick right now . . . I have 4. I am suspicious they have swine flu as well, *sigh*
