Weekly Meal Plan 50- June Cleaver Style

Sharing is caring!

June Cleaver

Anyone who has Yahoo, MSN, AOL or a television, knows that June Cleaver, the mother of all mothers, passed away this weekend.

I’ve often wondered what June would have done with five boys. Would she yell like I do? Would her laundry pile up to the sky like mine? Would dinner always be perfect?  Would she love her crockpot like I do?  Would she blog and what would she write about. Her struggles, maybe?

As I opened my Yahoo email account this weekend one of the leading news stories was the news of her passing. I was shocked. Oh my! June Cleaver passed away! What? No way.

Anthony was peering over my shoulder. There was her picture- Barbara Billingsley, who will forever be June Cleaver to me, posted on my computer screen. A radiantly glowing black and white picture of a younger June Cleaver. Anthony leans closer to the screen and in a puzzled nine year old voice says, ‘Well, she looks like she was in good health.’

Very observant, Beaver! Very observant.

Without further ado here is a June Cleaver weekly meal plan with a Crystal & Co., five boys run amok, touch. I just might wear an apron all week long.

Tator Tot Casserole  meat, potatoes (kind of) and veggies all in one dish. My kind of meal! Served with baked bread.

Cheesy Chicken Skillet– rockin’ go to meal! If you’ve not tried this yet, make it this week!

Baked Mustard Salmon– this is so so so good! Served with frozen vegetables and baked bread.

Crockpot Candy Chicken- carry over from last week. We will totally brush our teeth when we’re done. Served with steamed rice and salad.

Leftover Buffet– use ’em up!

Big Boys Lunch:
PB and Nutella
chips or pretzels
apple or grapes
celery and peanut butter or carrots and ranch
string cheese
bottle of water and flavor packet

(they are starving growing boys… can you tell?)

The twins are in Mothers Day Out (3 days a week). So for their lunches I will pack:
PBJ or mummy dogs (hot dog wrapped in crescent roll strips) or summer sausage and crackers

string cheese
chips or pretzels
cup of yogurt or apple sauce or fruit cup
carrots and ranch
apple juice box

Cold cereal
Pancakes
Bacon and scrambled eggs
Maple and brown sugar oatmeal (homemade)
French toast muffin style

chips and dip
cheese, summer sausage and crackers
pizza bites
popcorn
Wheat Thins and cream cheese

Eh – I'm betting June Cleaver would have been just as overwhelmed and unorganized as I am . . . with aspirations of being more organized and less overwhelmed.

PS – I recently discovered Nutella. I LOVE it. 🙂

Yum, french toast muffin style sounds good right about now. I have never made that before!

I am enjoying the visit to your blog, and I hope you'll come by to Free 2 Be Frugal sometime soon.

  3. I had no clue she had passed away. I'm stuck in the world of Max and Rudy…not news available here!
