Make Homemade Candy Sprinkles Ornaments for Christmas

Sharing is caring!

When the kids want to make a homemade Christmas ornament, this candy sprinkles ornament is the most adorable choice!

Even though it’s sprinkles, you can bet that it’ll still be good year after year because sprinkles don’t really go bad–and it’s not like you’re going to put them on a cake next year anyway, right?!

What You Need to Make a Candy Sprinkles Ornament

How to Make a Candy Sprinkles Ornament

  1. I started by cleaning my bottles–they seemed really dusty, so I just wiped them down with vinegar and a paper towel. But if your bottles are more messy, you can always use a more hefty cleaner.
  2. Take out the cork from each bottle.
  3. With a dab of hot glue or super glue, if desired, attach one of your screw eyes to the center of each cork.
  4. Pour about a tablespoon of sprinkles into each of the bottles.
  5. Replace each cork, making sure the screw eye is on the top. Press the corks firmly in place. You can also affix the cork with hot glue or super glue.
  6. Tie a bow around each bottle with the ribbon.
  7. Enjoy!

Best Way to Store Homemade Christmas Ornaments

I love to make handmade ornaments and one of the WORST things is to pack a beautiful ornament away in a box with the others and then next year open it up and it’s smashed or broken to bits.

And it’s just not practical to leave the tree up all year just so your ornaments don’t have to go in a box. Go figure.

So, I have tried some crazy number of ornament storage ideas. What it comes down to is just a few handy rules:

  • Having a sturdy box
  • Packing with filler
  • Not overpacking

You can go out and buy one of those big ornament storage boxes and they work really well, but if you’re on a budget, you can also use a mason jar box with those dividers that keep the glasses from bumping into one another.

Place a little filler like newspaper, bubble wrap or old dishtowels in the bottom of each cavity. Then put the ornament on top, add a bit more filler and close the box up.

I have found that this is just the most efficient way to store fragile ornaments. If you have a better idea for storing ornaments, be sure to let me know, because I’m open to it. Ha!
