Homemade Taco Seasoning
Have you ever made homemade taco seasoning before? It is crazy easy and super affordable. You can get every spice you need at ALDI (or any grocery store for that matter) for much, much cheaper than buying packet after packet of the pre-made taco seasoning. At ALDI each spice is a buck and they are large 5.5 oz containers.
Let me show you how easy this is to make.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c chili powder
- 1/4 c ground cumin
- 1/4 c dried onion
- 1/4 c paprika
- 1/4 c garlic powder
- 1/4 c dried oregano
- 1 T kosher salt
- 1/2 T fresh cracked pepper
Mix everything together. Mix it really, really well. Store it in an air tight container (or something cool like a small Mason jar).
Want to make it spicier, saltier, etc? You’re in control- adjust to your own family’s taste!
This makes just under 2 cups. You will use 2 T in place of one packet of taco seasoning.
Now, wasn’t that just super easy? Use this the next time you make tacos, chili, fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, stuffed peppers, layered dip, you name it!

Who knew homemade taco seasoning was so easy?! I recently bought a can of the “regular” stuff, but as soon as that’s finished, I’ll definitely be making my own. Thank you for sharing
It is seriously easy and super affordable!
This is something that I have been wanting to try and make for a while, I just haven’t done it yet. I use taco seasoning pretty often in my dishes. So I really need to make my own. Thanks for sharing your recipe! Pinning!
