Weekly Meal Plan 168: What Kids Want For Dinner

Sharing is caring!

We have a really bad habit as moms. We make things so much more difficult than they need to be.   We do.

I am guilty. Are you? I am pretty sure I already know your answer.

Do you know what your kids want for dinner?

I do. Ready for it?

They want their family together at the table.

They are NOT looking for a gourmet meal.

They do not expect you to be the next top chef.

They want nothing fancy. Honestly, they could likely eat mac and cheese every night until they’re 18 and be as happy as a clam.

I am learning in these meal planning classes that I have been doing at local churches and local mom events, that moms really are so hard on themselves. They set the bar way high and really what our kids and our husband want is so simple-  time around the table together as a family enjoying a meal.

Moms, starting today, I want you to stop being so hard on yourself. I want you to start fresh. I want you to make it your goal this week to get dinner on the table a number of nights that you know you can succeed at. Maybe that is 3 nights, maybe it is 5 nights, maybe it is all 7 nights this week.

And if you fail one night, start new tomorrow.

Do me a favor, when you cook dinner this week, Instagram your photo and hashtag it with #howtomealplan. I would love to encourage you to repeat dinnertime success over and over again all week long! I will be your biggest cheerleader, promise.

Here is what I am feeding my family this week.

#skilletsauces dinner

Weekly Meal Plan

Chicken Marsala– we had this last night. It was one of those #skilletsauces that you add to your stove-top chicken. Serve it over pasta. I also made some Cheese Baked Sliced Tomatoes.

Fish Tacos– this will be a recipe in my upcoming eBook which will share 21 easy recipes. I am going to serve this with a side of rice and refried beans.

Breakfast for Dinner this is so fun. We will have eggs, bacon and pancakes.

Crockpot Catalina Chicken– served with a Italian side salad, dinner rolls and a steamed veggie.

Crockpot Black Beans and Chicken– I made this a few weeks ago and plan to include it in my upcoming eBook. This is really, really tasty!

Leftover Buffet– use ’em up!
