Ingredients

Cupcake Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 1 3/4 Cups Flour
  • 3/4 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 Cup Whole Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Canola Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup Boiling Water

Frosting Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 3-5 Tablespoons Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 Disposable Piping Bag with Medium Star Tip

Decorating ingredients:

  • 1 Package of Plastic Spiders
  • 14 Ounces White Cotton Candy

Instructions

Cupcake Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree and line cupcake pan with liners.
  2. Using a large bowl, mix together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix in the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Carefully mix in the water until combined.
  5. Fill cupcake liners about 2/3 way full and bake for 22 minutes.

Frosting Directions:

  1. Using a stand mixer, combine all ingredients and mix on medium speed.
  2. Mix until you see stiffed peaks in your frosting.
  3. Scoop frosting into piping bag
  4. Frost cooled cupcakes

Decorating directions:

  1. Carefully pull apart the cotton candy and place on top of the frosting.
  2. Slowly place the plastic spider onto the "web".
