Aside from fine motor, it encourages creativity, fosters hand and eye coordination, it encourages discovery and is very calming to play with.

How Do You Use Play Dough Mats?

You simply print them out. This is my favorite homeschool printer that we use in our home.

Then you will want to pop them in sheet protectors or laminate them to keep them clean.

Then give your kiddos different colors of playdough and the mats.

They can follow the shapes on the mat, using the colors indicated on the mat or a different color if they choose, and form the dough to create the images on the mat.

How Do You Play with Playdough?

Kids can smash it, pull it apart, roll it, cut it with cookie cutters or playdough scissors, poke it with their fingers or with objects, add small items to the playdough like pasta, beans, coins, beads, etc.
