Ingredients Needed for this Crescent Roll Recipe
Here’s what you need for this amazing campfire dessert!
Refrigerated Crescent Rolls – Refrigerated crescent rolls are super convenient for a campfire dessert Packaged in easy-to-store cans, all you need to do is pop them open and unroll the dough—no extra prep required. Plus, they bake quickly and evenly over an open flame, so you’re not stuck waiting forever for dessert.
Brown Sugar – Unlike white sugar, brown sugar comes with molasses, which adds a deeper, more complex flavor. This extra richness pairs perfectly with cinnamon, creating a warm, comforting taste that’s just right for the great outdoors. Plus, the molasses helps keep the roll ups moist, so they don’t dry out while baking over the campfire.
Cinnamon – Its warm, aromatic spice adds a delicious depth of flavor that perfectly pairs with the sweetness of brown sugar and the buttery flakiness of crescent rolls. The smell alone is enough to make you feel cozy and relaxed around the campfire. Cinnamon’s natural sweetness and slight spiciness create a perfect balance with the other ingredients, making each bite absolutely delightful.
Granulated Sugar – When you sprinkle it on before cooking, it caramelizes under the heat, making a delightful crispy exterior. This adds a nice crunch with every bite and gives the roll ups a beautiful golden-brown finish. The contrast between the caramelized, crunchy sugar and the soft, flaky crescent rolls makes the whole eating experience so much better.
Butter – Its high-fat content makes sure the crescent rolls bake to a golden brown, flaky perfection while adding a delicious, buttery flavor that really complements the sweetness of the cinnamon and sugars. When you melt and brush it over the rolls, butter helps stick the cinnamon and sugars to the dough, making sure the flavors are spread evenly.

Can I Make Campfire Cinnamon Roll Ups without a Campfire?
Absolutely! You can easily make Campfire Cinnamon Roll Ups in the comfort of your kitchen if a campfire isn’t accessible. Simply preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Follow the same steps of preparing the crescent rolls with butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and puff up.
You can also use a toaster oven or an air fryer as an alternative to an oven. The delicious aroma of cinnamon and sugar caramelizing will fill your kitchen as you bake these treats, giving you a taste of campfire magic anytime you crave it!
How Do I Store Leftover Campfire Cinnamon Roll Ups?
Storing leftover campfire roll ups is a breeze and lets you enjoy them later. First, let the rolls cool down completely. Then, pop them into an airtight container or resealable plastic bag to keep them fresh. You can leave them at room temperature for up to two days. Want them to last longer? Stick them in the fridge or cooler, and they’ll be good for up to a week.
For even longer storage, freeze the rolls by wrapping them tightly in plastic wrap and placing them in a freezer-safe bag or container. When you’re ready to dig in again, just reheat the rolls in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or in an oven preheated to 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes until they’re warm and soft. Enjoy!
